Parents, Time to Update Your E-mail Accounts

The easiest way for us to send you a quick notification regarding missing work is by e-mail.  Please log into Infinite Campus and check the e-mail account you have registered.  If it is no longer up-to-date, please contact Amy Cook in the counseling office to update your e-mail address.  If you don't have an e-mail registered but now have an account, please request  for this information to be added to your contact information.  Thank you for helping us out in this way.

First Quarter Assembly

Enjoy our pics of First Quarter Assembly in the Team Album link.

Assembly Tomorrow (11-11-11)

Students should wear their team shirts tomorrow to show spirit at our First Quarter Achievement Assembly.

An Outdoors Experience

Students in Mrs. Distler's classes took a trip to the outdoor classroom to enjoy the beauty of fall.  Students then wrote descriptive paragraphs about their experiences.  Their photographs are elegant, and so is their writing! (See the team photos page for more!)

Veteran's Day Comes Early

On Monday, students were intrigued by the items our guest speaker brought with him---all the way from Iraq.  In honor of the upcoming Veteran's Day, Staff Sergeant Joe McGrail, uncle of Team Impact's Brady McGrail, spoke to the students about his joining the military, his dress and military uniform, and his experiences in Iraq.  Did you know that the pages in Iraqui magazines turn from left to right?  (For more photos, see our Team album!)

JCPS Supports Honor Flights

The Jefferson City Public Schools will be supporting the Honor Flights for Veterans.   All classes in the district have been asked to raise $10 per class.  The funds will be distributed between Central Missouri Honor Flights and Wreaths for Heroes.  The Jefferson City Public Schools will be joined by the Columbia Public Schools, Blair Oaks and other Cole County Schools.
Please help support this wonderful cause be allowing your student to bring $.50 to his/her Blazertime teacher.

What Are Weblockers?

Students now have a way to access from home any class work they complete on a computer at school.  They can use on-line web site called weblockers.  It's been a bit of a learning curve, but students are learning how to upload their work so they can access it at home, on their I-phone, or any place they can access the internet.  Students can log in using their first.last name and then the password selected.  There is a weblockers link on the side menu on the Lewis and Clark Home page.  Ask your student to show you their work!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Our team allows students to take the lead in showing you their work and discussing their classes at conferences.  Our team will be available to speak with you if you have questions or concerns.    Students will be bringing conference information home this week.  Please fill our your time-slot request as soon as possible.  Slots are first, come, first preference.  All forms should be returned by Friday, Oct. 14.  Conferences are held Tuesday, Oct. 20 and Thursday, Oct. 25.

Manners? Are they Part of 21st Century Children?

We are practicing some good manners in Blazertime.  Students are learning to greet a person with eye contact, stating their name clearly, a smile, and firm hand shake.  Stay tuned, as Blazertimes compete for the best greeter award!

We Survived Week One

We hope that your students had a productive first week of school.  It has been enjoyable getting to know them.  If you have a chance, ask them about the Name Game song (Lang. Arts),  what they discussed regarding manners in BlazerTime, check their agenda, and make sure their parent letters from Open House and supplies are turned in.

A Day of Service Success

Today was our first school-wide Day of Service.  My   Blazer time visited the residents of Oak Tree Villa and had a wonderful time playing dominoes, cards, and Bingo.  I was so proud of our Team Impact students, their caring nature, and the way they handled themselves.  Today was priceless!  A shout out to Mrs. Acree who was lead coordinator for the day.  See our photo album for more pictures!
